Kogo - Incense Containers

Kogo written in Kanji characters Kogo or Kougou are lidded small containers holding the incense that is added to the charcoal fire just before the ceremony.

*Kogo varies according to the seasons:
In summer: Wooden Kogo to hold the chips of incense wood (Koboku) for Furo
In winter: Ceramic Kogo to hold the kneaded incense (Neriko) for hearth (Ro)
